Card on the table...

So it’s 2011! I’m 30 years old and if the next 20 years pass as quickly as the last then it’s time to stop playing at this Ironman stuff. When the time comes to hang up the running shoes, bike or wetsuit I don’t want any questions left unanswered, especially the one under the title of this blog. With Annie, (our daughter) getting older and her interests taking up more and more of our time. Me ‘treading water’ at work, and Katie (the wife) threatening to step into the long course arena. My time to train and answer said question is ever decreasing. Now has to be the time.

So goals for 2011.

3rd July 2011 Kärnten Ironman Austria- Sub 9hrs 30mins

63 mins swim / 4h 57min bike / 3h 23min run / 5m30s T1 + T2

11th September 2011 Ironman Wales- Sub 10 hrs?

(It’s not possible to set specifics here being the first year, but off the back off a good race at IMA I’d hope to be competitive in my age group)

Pretty ambitious I know, but I believe entirely achievable.
